Bran Castle was built at the end of the 14th century by the order of Ludovic I of Hungary. It was then given to Mircea cel Batran, the grandfather of Vlad the Impaler.
After that, the castle went from the property of Hungarian Goverment to the property of Brasov city. In 1920 it was donated to the romanian queen, Mary,
and she left it to her daughter Princes Ileana. When the comunists got the power, the castle was taken in the state property. The state made a museum of it,
and after the revolution from 1989 it was given back to the royal family. In present its a museum and it can still be visited because the royal family agreed
to keep it like this for 3 more years.
